A for ATTAINABLE - Our lessons are becoming achievable and we are able to accomplish it well. Remember if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
R for REALISTIC - This help us in having or showing a sensible and practical idea regarding on what must be done in regards to the lecture, what can be achieved by our students and the expectations of the people around us. We teachers must represent familiar things in a way that is accurate and true to life.
T for TIME BOUND - We are having a great progress regarding our lectures and there are lots of learning absorbed by our students in a reasonable time. ♥

SPECIFIC
Objectives that are specific help the students determine what to expect from the lesson. It also aids the teachers to create the learning atmosphere in which the objective can be fulfilled. It answers the questions:
Who – To whom the topic is to be taught or who will benefit from it
Why – Determines the purpose of the lesson or its benefits
What – Answers what needs to be accomplished; the necessary materials for the lesson; and the kind of teaching or learning method to be used
MEASUREABLE
Measureable objectives help keep track of the learning progress by estimating how much is to be learned, the length of time a topic should be taught, and by giving learners some form of qualitative or quantitative exam. This answers the questions:
How much is to be learned?
How long will it take to discuss a topic?
How much has been learned?

ATTAINABLE
An attainable objective determines how an activity can be accomplished provided that it is realistic.
REALISTIC/RESULT-ORIENTED
A realistic objective pertains to the relevance of a lesson or an activity to the learners.
TIME-BOUND
This element answers the question when an activity will be accomplished or how long an activity can be accomplished. In other words, an activity should be completed within a certain or a given time frame.

Lesson planning competencies are important for an educator. Having a lesson plan ensures that you set goals and outcomes for students, and motivates you to reach them as well. The SMART -- Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely -- method of lesson-planning enables you set realistic goals and outcomes for students.
SMART, objectives need to be as specific as possible.
SMART objective is measurable. You can evaluate a student's progress on the lesson only when you can measure the objective. You can make the objective measurable by declaring students that have achieved a specific task as successful.
Achievable and Relevant
The objectives you set must be realistic and achievable for students. Similarly, the lesson plan should be relevant to students. For example, the plan could help students in their upcoming school project or the technical vocabulary could be of use in their literacy lesson class.
TIME BOUND
What is the time limit for a lesson? How much time do you intend to give to teaching students? You could define a time limit such as "Two half-hour classes to teach students It is important to understand your students' learning capabilities and review your lesson presentation strategies to come up with a realistic time-span.

Sec. 21. Objectives of Elementary Education. — The objectives of elementary education are:
1. To provide the knowledge and develop the skills, attitudes, and values essential to personal development and necessary for living in and contributing to a developing and changing social milieu;
2. To provide learning experiences which increase the child's awareness of and responsiveness to the changes in and just demands of society and to prepare him for constructive and effective involvement;
3. To promote and intensify the child's knowledge of, identification with, and love for the nation and the people to which he belongs; and
4. To promote work experiences which develop the child's orientation to the world of work and creativity and prepare himself to engage in honest and gainful work.
Sec. 22. Objectives of Secondary Education. — The objectives of secondary education are:
1. To continue to promote the objectives of elementary education; and
2. To discover and enhance the different aptitudes and interests of the students so as to equip him with skills for productive endeavor and/or prepare him for tertiary schooling.
Sec. 23. Objective of Tertiary Education. — The objectives of tertiary education are:
1. To provide a general education program that will promote national identity, cultural consciousness, moral integrity and spiritual vigor;
2. To train the nation's manpower in the skills required for national development;
3. To develop the professions that will provide leadership for the nation; and
4. To advance knowledge through research work and apply new knowledge for improving the quality of human life and responding effectively to changing societal needs and conditions.

SMART objectives in their lesson.
SPECIFIC objective - it would be easier for the teacher to formulate his/her lesson plan because there is a clear agenda to follow on what should be taught in a specific subject.
MEASURABLE objective - evaluating the students' performance is vital so that any changes to the lesson plan formulated can be address to suit the students' need for learning.
ATTAINABLE objective - once an objective is achieved/attained this will give the teacher a sense of satisfaction because she/he was able to effectively implement his/her lesson plan.
REALISTIC objective - having a realistic objective means easier formulation of lesson plan beacuse it is straight forward and references are readily available and it's easier to teach the students because it is appropriate to their level.
TIME-BOUND - lesson plans should be formulated with a specific time frame so that it is organized and the teacher will know that she/he has ample time for the entire lesson plan to be implemented.
